DAVID ROSENDavid has four decades of wide-ranging experience in communications, including nearly 25 years as the chief communications officer at five institutions of higher education – Harvard University, The University of Chicago, Brandeis University, Yeshiva University and Emerson College.
He began his career in 1968 as a reporter at The Day newspaper in New London, CT. He went on to become a political writer for the Boston Herald and Massachusetts State House bureau chief for United Press International. He appeared regularly on WGBH-TV and served two terms as president of the State House Press Association.
In 1979, David shifted the focus of his career to public relations and public affairs. In addition to working in higher education, he has served as director of public information for the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission; as chief of staff for former Massachusetts Lt. Gov. Evelyn Murphy; and as a strategic communications consultant. His clients have included: the U.S. General Accounting Office, the Massachusetts Division of Insurance, the Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency, Harvard University, the New England Board of Higher Education, Clark University, Judge Baker Children's Center, Pilgrim Health Care, the Massachusetts Golf Association and the Massachusetts Association of Registered Dispensing Opticians.
David holds a bachelor's degree in government and a master's degree in journalism from Boston University and has taught at BU's College of Communication and the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
