Jeff Roberts is a Managing Partner for Slowey/McManus Communications and leads the firm’s New York City office. Since his appointment, he has brought new clients to the firm and created and expanded the reach and exposure for clients in the New York and national markets as well as in key vertical markets.
Before joining Slowey/McManus, Jeff served as Vice President, Public Affairs for the New York City Economic Development Corporation, a not-for-profit entity that serves as the primary vehicle to promote, build, manage and foster New York City’s economic development. During his tenure there, he designed and implemented integrated communications programs for large-scale industrial and housing development projects including the areas surrounding the new Yankee Stadium, Coney Island, Citi Field stadium, Harlem, flagship bioscience developments, and various parts of the Brooklyn waterfront. He also successfully created new relationships and developed alliances with developer, community, government and academic stakeholders.
Throughout his 20-year communications career, Jeff has worked with dozens of Fortune 500 consumer and B2B clients in the telecommunications, health care, hi-tech and electronics spaces, local and global non-profits as well as law firms and other professional service organizations. His health care work includes information initiatives in developing nations, telemedicine, remote imaging devices and other global networking technologies for emergency services in rural areas.
His corporate positions included roles as a Regional Public Relations Vice President and Director at AT&T Corp., and Director of Media Relations for the AT&T Foundation. His public affairs projects have contributed to hundreds of millions of dollars in increased revenue for his clients. In addition, he has expertise in global supply chain, logistics, environmental compliance issues, tariffs, warehousing, shipping and all elements of the electronics manufacturing process.
Jeff also has extensive credentials as a news media veteran, having served as a business news producer at CNBC and as an investigative producer at CBS News. He began his professional career as a news writer, producer and on-air reporter for WPIX-TV in New York City. He is a graduate of Boston University’s College of Communication, speaks fluent Hebrew and is conversant in Spanish and French, has studied Mandarin at the China Institute and serves on the board of advisers of the Chinese American Business Development Center.
